Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients with a typical ratio of 1:2, adjusted based on acuity; unit may include overflow step-down level patients at times
• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR, including cardiac surgery post-operative care
• Perform and interpret pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Monitor and manage patients on Impella devices and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience is required and will be utilized regularly in this role
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in West Virginia or a valid Compact State license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with demonstrated CVICU or cardiac surgery experience
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale — all AHA-issued certifications must be through the American Heart Association
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience, though not required
• Experience with blocked scheduling arrangements
• Familiarity with step-down level care in an overflow capacity
