Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and fast-acting Cardiac Cath Lab RN to join our team. In this specialized unit, you will care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology (EP) studies, and vascular procedures. You will work alongside cardiologists in a high-acuity setting to assist with life-saving procedures, procedural sedation, and emergency interventions such as STEMI call-outs.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, stenting, angioplasty, and pacemaker/ICD implantations
• Administer moderate procedural sedation, monitor hemodynamics, electrocardiograms (ECG), and vital signs continuously during procedures
• Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, perform pre-procedural assessments, and insert arterial/venous access lines as needed
• Manage post-procedure sheath removal (manual compression or closure devices) and monitor access sites for bleeding, hematoma, or vascular complications
• Respond to emergency call rotations, including urgent STEMI procedures and acute cardiac events
• Educate patients and family members on post-catheterization care, recovery, and cardiac discharge instructions
• Collaborate seamlessly with interventional cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and vascular specialists

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab (ICU/CCU background strongly preferred)
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, or a compact RN license if applicable
• Certifications: Active BLS and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of cardiac hemodynamics, ECG interpretation, procedural sedation, and sheath management; willingness to participate in call coverage
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
