Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. This role involves providing care for neonates and their families in a fast-paced environment.
General Information
- Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds: 9 NICU beds
- Patient Ratios: NICU - 1:1, 1:2, 1:3; Nursery - 1:6
- Type of Equipment: Giraffe isolettes, panda warmers, cribs, CPAP, vents
- Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
- Scheduling Requirements: 3-12 hour shifts per week and one call shift per month.
- Floating Policy: May float to post-partum or nursery as needed.
Patient Experience Requirements
Our nurses are dedicated to ensuring a positive patient experience for both neonates and their families by providing compassionate and effective care during their stay.
Hiring Profile
- Requested Skill Set:
- Ability to labor, deliver, and recover patients
- Assist with newborn care following delivery
- Circulate and recover cesarean section patients
- Provide care for high-risk patients in the perinatal unit
- Must Have: Capability to stabilize and care for all facets of the neonate from admission until discharge.
- Advanced Skills Needed: None
- Procedures Performed on Unit: Central line placement, intubations
- Certifications Required: NRP, BLS, STABLE (preferred)
- Dress Code: Navy blue uniform
