HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Regional is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Salem, Virginia.

Job Description & Requirements

• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours, days, nights
• Employment Type: Local Contract

About the unit:

·         Number of Beds – 15 beds

·         Type of equipment –  Cardiac Telemetry, Chest tubes, Cardiac drips(NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone), Post Cath Patients, post-surgical patients to include open heart, lung patients, general surgery patients, post op orthopedic patients that require cardiac monitoring.

·         EMR – Meditech

Must have:  candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

·         PCU experience

·         Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients

·         Chest tube management, epidurals

Preferred or nice to have:  candidates with these skills will be considered first.

·         Teamwork ability

·         Time management with high turnover of patients

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):  

·         Post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes , post op surgical patients

·          Critical drips, epidurals, PCA

·          Outgoing, team oriented, willing to go above and beyond for patients

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

·         BLS & ACLS

Floating Area(s):

·         ICU taking PCU type patients, PCU, Med-surg (taking 5 patients)

Dress Code:

·         Scrub Color/Attire –  Navy or white, can mix or match

Weekends and On call:

·         Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts
