This role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia, including those with complex care needs such as total hips/knees, neuro, urology, and general surgeries. The position offers varied shifts and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on patient recovery and safety.
Job Details
- Location: The position is based at a healthcare facility with acute recovery services.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, any day Monday through Friday, with varied start times from 0500 to 0930, 12-hour shifts, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PALS (AHA); minimum of 2 years of experience in acute recovery; valid license to practice.
- Additional Qualifications: No prior employment directly with healthcare facilities associated with the organization in the past year is permitted. Prior PACU experience with acute recovery is required.
- Responsibilities: Includes patient monitoring, interpretation of EKG strips, postoperative care of patients with diverse surgical backgrounds, and collaboration with team members.
- Shift Details: Varied 12-hour shifts on weekdays, with roughly five weekend call shifts and eight weeknight call shifts per quarter. Call shifts typically run from 2200-0500 or 2200-0700 for weeknights and 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 for weekends.
- Orientation: Parking and floor-specific orientation for 1-2 days in PACU with a preceptor.
- Additional Notes: Not a trauma hospital; PACU may have ICU patients until beds open up.
- Submission Requirements: Copy of valid drivers license at the time of submittal; two references (one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years).
