Emergency Room (ER) Nurse located in the Midwest, specializing in acute care and trauma services. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, STEMI, and stroke patients, within a busy Level 4 Trauma Center. The position offers a dynamic environment with a focus on fast-paced, patient-centered nursing practice.

Job Details

  • Position: Emergency Room Nurse
  • Certifications Required: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Education/Degree: No specific degree required; must hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the state.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ER experience required.
  • Location Requirements: Must have a valid license in the state where the facility is located.
  • Schedule: Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities: Managing variable patient diagnoses including trauma, strokes, and STEMI; performing assessments, treatments, and interventions according to department policies; utilizing electronic charting systems; participating in department-specific orientation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with rapid trauma assessment and emergency procedures, ability to handle high-acuity situations, familiarity with triage processes.
  • Additional Information: RN staff may rotate through inpatient areas to assist with patient needs. The department includes designated triage, fast track, and holding areas, with a mix of inpatient and emergency tasks. Trainees must understand facility policies and procedures before engaging in triage activities.
