Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Orthopedic Medical/Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: September 22, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Weekend coverage required for approximately half of scheduled shifts. Patient ratio 1:6. Float required as needed.
Highlights:
- 13-week travel assignment on a 36-bed orthopedic medical/surgical unit
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and spinal cord injuries
- 36 hours of orientation provided to support your transition to the unit
- Work with a full range of orthopedic and medical/surgical procedures including wound care, chest tubes, and post-operative management
Requirements:
- Active Texas RN license or compact state license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Proficiency in medical/surgical and orthopedic nursing skills including IV management, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and post-operative care
