Job Summary
Pediatric Psychology Bangor, ME
This Pediatric Psychology position involves providing specialized mental health care within a designated behavioral health facility. The role includes managing a diverse patient population of children and adolescents, with responsibilities spanning clinical assessment, medication administration, therapeutic interventions, and group facilitation, while floating between adult and pediatric units as needed.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS; ME State License; MOAB obtained on site (as part of orientation).
  • Education and Experience: 0 years of experience required; 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience required; Pediatric Behavioral Health experience preferred; valid state license.
  • Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The position requires de-escalation skills, experience with physical restraints (chemical restraints are NOT used), medication passes, and comfort with running groups. Support staff includes a DON/CNO, Nurse Manager, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, and security personnel. Orientation occurs during the first week, with subsequent shifts scheduled on a modified self-scheduling cycle. Holiday work is expected in rotation. The unit uses Cerner charting system; support includes on-site psychiatrists and therapists; heavy snow conditions are anticipated during winter. Candidates should be prepared for scenario-based training and de-escalation practices.
