Job Summary:
Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) positions are available for assignments in an organizational setting specializing in pediatric cardiac care. These roles involve providing specialized nursing care for children with complex cardiac conditions, including single ventricle physiology, heart transplants, and ventricular assist devices. The positions require pediatric cardiac experience and are scheduled for nights, with the possibility of float to other units within the facility.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BSN required; certifications including BLS, PALS, ACLS required; minimum two years of Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care or Cardiac Step-Down experience; minimum one year of inpatient pediatric cardiology experience (ICU or Intermediate Care); strong knowledge of pediatric three-stage single ventricle care; ability to care for pediatric cardiology patients, including those with Single Ventricle, Heart Transplant, and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD); travel experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Pediatric Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) patients; teaching hospital experience preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Assignment runs from 01/05/2027 to 04/10/2027. Nurses must work two major holidays and one minor holiday during the assignment. No Request for Time Off (RTO) is approved during the first two weeks. Seasonal influenza vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted; exemption requests must be included with submission.
