Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Michigan This position involves providing specialized nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR nurse assesses patient needs, develops and implements care plans, and ensures patient safety throughout the operative process, while providing leadership to the operating room team.
Job Details
- Certifications: Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); Michigan state license as per Nursys or LARA records
- Education Requirements: Valid Michigan licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location Requirements: Michigan
- Years of Experience: 2+ years of RN Operating Room experience required
- Shift Details: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Clinical and Operational Responsibilities:
- Assessing surgical patients and developing individualized care plans
- Supervising operating room activities and coordinating schedule changes
- Assembling equipment and supplies, assisting anesthesia as necessary, and monitoring sterile fields
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff
- Participating in staff development through in-services, educational meetings, and seminars
- Additional Information:
- Level 2 Trauma experience required
- Proficient in Orthopedics, Vascular, Neuro, General/Gynecology, and Urology procedures
- Recent travel work experience highly preferred
- Submission requirements include Skills Checklist current within the last year, two supervisory reference forms from the past two years, active BLS certification, and valid Michigan license.
- On-call: One 12-hour call shift each week required
- Weekend work: None
