Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse, located in Fargo, ND, specializing in the care of medically complex hematology and oncology patients. This position involves working in a busy level 1 trauma center, providing comprehensive patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: Nurses will care for hematology/oncology patients requiring blood products, antibiotics, and symptom or side effect management. Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, medication administration, and family communication. Training on chemotherapy administration may be provided if applicable.
- Required Qualifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association, ND or Compact RN License, and at least 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting with 250+ beds. Experience with EPIC, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and zebra phone preferred.
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, every other weekend and holiday, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must badge in and out at the facility, wear navy blue scrubs, and be willing to float to various med-surg units within Fargo as needed. Recent inpatient oncology experience, hematology, or bone marrow transplant experience is preferred. Candidates with recent employment at the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
