Job Summary
Long Term Care (LTC) Nurse, located at a nursing home attached to a hospital, is responsible for providing compassionate and skilled care to elderly residents with diagnoses including dementia and frailty. This position involves assessing, charting, medication administration, and clinical skills such as IVs, catheters, and ostomies in a facility with primarily private beds.
Job Details
- Certifications and Qualifications: BLS (AHA) certification required. No specific degree or minimum years of experience required, but at least 1 year of elderly care experience is preferred. The candidate must hold a license to submit and must be located within 80 miles of the facility.
- Schedule: Evening shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Conducting assessments, charting, charge duties, medication administration, and clinical skills such as IV therapy, caths, and ostomies.
- Unit Note: The unit has RN and LPN staffing ratios of 1:20 each, CNA ratio of 1:8, and on-site therapy, pharmacy, and RT staff available 24/7.
- Additional Information: The team includes interdisciplinary members such as therapy, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and administration. The unit requires floating staff and the dress code is any solid color, clean, and professional. Orientation varies by skills, and clinicians who have previously worked for Marshfield must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
