Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Location unspecified. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for obstetric patients in an acute setting, focusing on assessment, delivery, and postpartum care. The position requires delivering patient-centered, multidisciplinary support for high-risk obstetric cases while ensuring safety and adherence to clinical protocols.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for obstetric patients, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Required Qualifications: CA RN Licensure; BLS (AHA); ACLS; NRP; AWHONN Intermediate; minimum 2 years of experience in obstetrics; Epic electronic medical record system experience; current certifications with valid expiration dates.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrics, antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal care.
  • Additional Information: Must have at least 2 years of experience in obstetrics, with proficiency in a variety of clinical skills including use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), sterile speculum exams, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, neonatal assessments, and management of obstetric complications. No on-call, weekend rotation required.
