Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiac Stepdown care in a Midwestern healthcare facility. This position involves providing direct patient care to adult patients post-cardiac procedures, including post-operative CABG, valve surgeries, and responses to respiratory failure and chest pain. The role requires working night shifts and coordinating patient care within a team environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Midwestern healthcare facility, serving the South St. Louis County area.
- Shift: Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or licensed in Missouri; BLS and ACLS certifications fromAmerican Heart Association; at least 1 year of experience in Cardiac Stepdown or similar inpatient setting; valid CPR certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, respiratory failure, chest pain patient populations; NIHSS certification considered an asset.
- Responsibilities: Utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; maintaining patient rights and confidentiality; coordinating with interdisciplinary teams; operating within the scope of practice and hospital standards; providing patient education and support.
- Additional Information: The role involves evaluating the effectiveness of care delivered by direct care staff, performing duties consistent with the mission and standards of the healthcare provider, and may require float to similar or lower acuity units as needed. The position emphasizes teamwork and professional accountability, supporting the hospital's mission of compassionate care.
