Job Summary:
Infusion Nurse in a healthcare setting, providing specialized infusion services including chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood, iron, and fluids. The role involves delivering patient care in an acute division, primarily during rotating shifts with variable start and end times, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position requires flexibility and adherence to department policies, with a focus on patient safety and clinical standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, mostly 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; a minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience; Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside the 50-mile radius rule.
- Preferred Qualifications: Chemotherapy certification is highly preferred.
- Additional Information:
- RN's must successfully pass a pass/fail exam on Friday during orientation, with an open-book exam on skills learned, requiring a 90% passing score.
- Candidates must comply with the fingernail policy, prohibiting artificial nails in patient-care departments.
- The department sees approximately 50 patients daily.
- No call responsibilities.
- The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts if less than 13 weeks.
- Charting system used is EPIC.
- Important to note, candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility within a 50-mile radius and must have a valid driver's license at submittal.
