Job Summary:
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a medical/surgical intensive care unit. The role involves providing specialized critical care to geriatric and adult patients with a focus on ventilator management, central and arterial lines, and treatment of conditions such as sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, COPD, DKA, and post-heart catheterization recovery. The assignment is scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a weekly minimum of 36 hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; minimum of 2 years of relevant ICU experience; appropriate licensure; located within reasonable distance or eligible to work at the healthcare providers location.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, and chest tube management; familiarity with sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, COPD, DKA, and post-heart cath patient care.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The ICU typically manages 4 beds with patient ratios of 1 RN to 2 ICU patients or 1 ICU patient and 1-2 medical patients. RNs may float to medical floors managing 4-6 patients. The unit admits geriatric and adult patients, excluding pediatric cases.
