Opportunity:
RN - CVOR
Job Details:
• 9-week contract with 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Monday through Friday, various 8-hour day shifts
• Weekends as needed and every other holiday rotation
• On-call requirements include 1 week day call, 1 week day backup call, 2-3 weekend calls, and 1 holiday call with potential for additional call as needed
• 30-minute response time required when on call - a personal vehicle is required for this position
• Assigned 4-5 operating rooms per day across 21 ORs covering all specialties with a main focus on the cardiothoracic program
• Assist anesthesia providers with heart surgeries, traumas, elective surgeries, and general surgeries
• Perform strong OR/CVOR circulating duties including assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes during intubation, and sterile techniques with central lines
• Assist anesthesiologist with placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan Ganz catheters
• Start IVs, draw labs, set up medication pumps, and operate Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level I equipment
• Prior experience with conscious sedation is a plus
• Must be flexible, hardworking, resilient, and able to manage change with strong critical thinking skills
• Willing to complete downtime tasks as needed
• 2-week orientation process with training for additional anesthesia skills as needed
• Scrub colors provided
• Minimum 3+ years of OR experience with anesthesia experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
• Required certifications: AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, WI RN License or compact RN license
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Proficiency with Cell Saver and Belmont equipment required
