Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse for a nights-shift position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and arrhythmias, among others.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license in Maryland or a Compact State, BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH Stroke Scale certification, with at least 2 years of experience in adult cardiovascular intensive care; experience with Epic charting system preferred.
- Responsibilities include bedside line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, Swan-Ganz/PA catheter insertions, targeted temperature management, and CRRT management, among other advanced cardiovascular procedures.
- Units utilize specialized equipment such as Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors.
- Required to float within the specialty as needed, including lower acuity units and ICU settings.
- May be required to be on-call; must be comfortable floating and performing within scope with no restrictions.
- COVID-19 vaccination not required; flu vaccination is mandatory with no exemptions.
- Onboarding requires labs within 72 hours of signing the contract, with all compliance documents due five days prior to the start date.
- Candidates must accept the assignment without an interview and be available to start on 09/28/2026 for a 13-week contract.
