• Schedule: Day and night rotations; weekend coverage varies based on unit needs

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040

• Patient Population: Adult cardiac stepdown / oncology telemetry
• Unit Focus: High-acuity progressive care with strong emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention

Job Requirements

• 2 years of total acute care nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of PCU or progressive care experience required
• Current acute care experience must be recent and consistent within the last 12 months
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission; compact or Ohio nursing license accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Comfort working in a high-acuity stepdown and telemetry setting
• Ability to float to equivalent or lower-acuity PCU or Med-Surg oncology units
• Professional references required
• Oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for adult patients with solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely clinical decision-making
• Manage progressive care patients with complex needs, including cardiac drips and hemodynamic support per protocol
• Perform and support common stepdown interventions such as central line and PICC care, port access, IV management, blood product administration, and heparin protocols
• Assist with respiratory and airway-related care, including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Care for patients requiring feeding tube management, PCA support, chest tubes, and other advanced bedside interventions
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and collaborate with rapid response and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintain strong infection prevention practices and support a safe environment with careful attention to fall reduction
• Float as needed to other oncology PCU or Med-Surg units within the same level of care
• Deliver compassionate, team-based nursing care in a busy and rewarding cardiac stepdown nursing job
