Schedule: 36 hours/week; Every Other Weekend; Holidays as Scheduled
Patient Ratio: 1:6

Float Required: Yes – ED borders, MS/T, IMC units within specialty and scope
Call Requirement: None; pre-scheduled call shifts not required
Note: Border ED unit; fast-paced, high-volume environment.Royal Blue scrubs.
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg/Telemetry and Emergency Department Border setting. The role manages ED admission patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including complex and high-acuity cases, while providing care within the MS/Tele and IMC scope.
Job Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and continuous assessment for adult and geriatric ED border and MS/Tele patients.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate emergency response interventions.
- Manage central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, IV therapy, blood products, and prescribed medication therapies.
- Provide respiratory care including oxygen administration, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and ventilated-patient monitoring.
- Manage patients with neurological, cardiovascular, renal, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, and other complex medical conditions within scope.
Requirements:
License: Active Maryland or Compact RN License required at submission
Experience: 2 years RN experience; travel experience required; previous charge experience preferred
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI required; NIHSS preferred
Other Requirement: Must be comfortable floating within scope without restrictions; AHA required for BLS/ACLS; every-other-weekend coverage required; trauma, teaching, and community hospital experience preferred.
Unit Details:
Unit: Med/Surg IMC, ER Border 3610-10165
Patient Ratios: 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics; minimum 10 ED boarders up to approximately 32–40 daily
Patient Diagnoses: ED admission patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including complex medical, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, and other acute conditions.
