Job Summary
Long Term Acute Care registered nurse (RN) position available in a facility located within a medical environment (not traditional medical/surgical). The role involves providing care for medically complex patients in a long-term acute care setting, with a focus on managing ventilated and respiratory patients. The shift is 12 hours during the day, with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week. The position requires working every other weekend and floating between units as needed, including acute care sister units such as the Medical Rehabilitation Unit. Prior travel experience is preferred.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts during the day, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 1-2 years of experience, current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory/ventilated patients.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; will float between acute care sister units, including Medical Rehabilitation Unit and Critical Medical Unit. For a 12-hour shift, may be on one unit for 4 hours and another for 8 hours.
  • Experience Requirements: RN experience with respiratory/vented patients is strongly preferred. Nurses do not manage ventilators personally, as RTs handle vents.
  • Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for initiating IVs, managing drips, administering blood products, interpreting EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, dressing changes, trach care, suctioning, straight catheterization, Foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements. Profiles must be clear and easy to follow, with experience noted for respiratory/vented patients if applicable.
