Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Napa, CA 94558
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Napa, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend coverage required. Potential for on-call depending on census. May float to postpartum unit as needed.
Highlights:
- 200-bed acute care hospital with 5-bed Labor & Delivery unit
- Patient ratios of 1:2 with daily census of 2-3 patients and approximately 15 visits per day
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
- 40 hours of orientation provided with free parking available
- First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted
- 13-week assignment (91 days) ending December 28, 2026
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in sterile vaginal exams (required and non-negotiable)
- Experience with labor and delivery procedures including vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean sections, neonatal resuscitation, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
- Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Clean background check required; no exceptions for background findings
