Position Details

- Schedule: Nights – 3 × 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Shift Time: 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM
- Call: None
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Yes
- Scheduling: No block scheduling
- Auto Offer: ER List A – Maximum 3 days RTO
- RTO Blackout: September 8 – October 31
- Local Radius: No local candidates within 50 miles
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required — no exceptions
- Delaware or Compact RN License in hand
- Recent Epic experience required
- RN License Number and expiration date
- All certifications with expiration dates
- All RTO must be provided at the time of initial submission. RTO requests submitted after initial submission will not be considered or approved.

- Patient Population: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric

- Float: No floating outside of the Emergency Department. Staff may occasionally provide additional support in CED or WED.
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments: All types of emergency presentations, with limited EMS presentations

Overtime & Break Policy
- Travel RNs are not authorized to pick up overtime shifts and overtime will not be approved by ChristianaCare.
- Incidental overtime is also not authorized or approved for travel RNs.
- Travel RNs are expected to complete their shifts on time and provide timely handoff to the charge or oncoming nurse, particularly when involved in a code, RRT, or significant event near shift change.
- All staff are expected to take their assigned meal breaks. Travel RNs may not accumulate or be compensated for missed meal-break time.
- Staff should communicate with the Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Nurse Manager when assistance is needed to ensure timely handoff and shift completion.
- Exception: Overtime may apply in procedural areas with scheduled/on-call procedures when necessary to maintain procedural schedules or address emergent cases, based on staffing needs.
