Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in the community. This role involves providing acute care to patients in a Level IV Trauma, STEMI receiving, and Stroke designated emergency setting. The position requires clinical expertise in emergency medicine with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description:
Provides emergency care within a designated Trauma Level IV, STEMI receiving, and Stroke Center with 4 beds and 2 trauma bays. No clinical involvement with administrative or clerical duties. - Required Qualifications:
Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Minimum of 2 years of ER experience and previous Medsurg experience. Must possess an active license to submit applications. - Schedule:
Rotating shiftsincluding 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AMminimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
The ER treats approximately 10 patients daily. The unit has nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics on call, with charge nurses each shift who prioritize patient care and oversee operations. Certified staff are required to read their own EKG strips and troubleshoot monitors (Mindray). The role includes a 12-hour orientation period. Float rotation to Med/Surg and Swing Bed units is required. The candidate must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule and RTO policies are strict with upfront requests only.
