Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in North Georgia This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The role requires self-sufficient professionals skilled in managing diverse patient conditions, utilizing EPIC electronic medical records, and working within a team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Location: North Georgia
  • Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; 2 years of ER experience
  • Responsibilities include managing a large volume of patients with various emergency conditions such as chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and uncontrolled diabetes. The ER treats primarily adult patients aged 20-90, with occasional precipitate deliveries due to the absence of obstetric services.
  • Staffing includes one ER physician at all times, with additional midlevels during peak hours; charge nurses on each shift may also take assignments.
  • The unit has a separate triage area and vertical flow trauma bays, with protocols for behavioral health and critical care management.
  • Routine procedures include using EPIC for documentation, managing common drips (e.g., levo, epi, fentanyl, propofol), and operating RT equipment.
  • Staff are expected to be experienced in quickly adapting to high-pressure situations and capable of functioning efficiently with limited resources.
  • Orientation includes one week of hospital and unit-specific training with a preceptor.
