📋 Responsibilities

The ED RN will provide comprehensive emergency nursing care, including:

  • Perform independent nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions throughout treatment
  • Provide direct nursing care, therapy, and treatments according to established standards
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Provide patient education and health counseling
  • Administer medications and perform delegated medical functions within scope
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Document patient care accurately in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate and facilitate appropriate referrals and additional treatment
  • Monitor treatment plans and patient responses
  • Provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
  • Float to other departments when needed, provided the assignment is within the RN's competency and qualifications 

 

✅ Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • ASN/ADN from an accredited nursing program required
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • BLS – American Heart Association required
  • Previous RN experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-care skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Comfortable providing care across varying levels of patient acuity 

 

⭐ Preferred / Additional Certifications

  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • Additional specialty certifications appropriate to the department 

 

🕐 Schedule

  • Night Shift – 12 hours
  • 3 shifts per week
  • 36 hours/week

  • Some on-call requirements may apply based on department needs
