Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse position is located in New York. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiac and post-surgical patients in a specialized intensive care environment. It requires utilizing evidence-based practices and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum 2 years of post-open heart and cardiac care unit experience, at least 2 years of RN experience, 1 year of travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem), EPIC electronic medical record experience highly preferred. Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience and active matriculation in a BSN program.
- Performs charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinates with nursing management to ensure appropriate use of supplies and staffing.
- Escalates resource deficits and facilitates patient throughput during shifts.
- Contributes to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates nursing skills crucial to quality and safety in the cardiac ICU setting.
- Implements process improvement strategies and collaborates on quality initiatives.
- Incorporates ethical principles into nursing care and emphasizes professional development and shared decision-making.
