Position Overview

Shift: Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00 – 07:30; rotating shifts of 7a-7p or 7p-7a may be required)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required in Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown. No first-time travelers accepted.
- Licensure: Current RN license required.
- Certifications: Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Patient Population & Procedures: Stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, general Med/Surg, and IMC/Step-down level of care. Special procedures include lumbar drains, NIHSS administration, and stroke education.
Compliance & Facility Details
- Radius Rule: Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required.
- Unit Ratios: Usual patient assignment is 1:4 (may be higher at times depending on resource availability).
- Fit Testing & PPE: Travelers MUST shave for a mask to seal for fit testing. CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided, and the facility does not allow travelers to use their own (no medical or religious exemptions; failure to shave results in contract cancellation). Subcontractor agency travelers must complete an OSHA Respirator Clearance ($22 agency cost) prior to starting.
- Rehire Rule: Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler; a 6-month break is required before returning.
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
