Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Facility: University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton
Location: Easton, MD
Start Date: 09/14/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)
Schedule: Choice of Night 3x12-Hour (36 hours/week) or Night 4x12-Hour (48 hours/week); Every other weekend required
Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
Charting System: Epic (Preferred)
Float Required: Yes – Within specialty and lower acuity units; may float to sister SRH facility (Chestertown) if needed
Position Overview:
Provide specialized telemetry nursing care for adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients requiring cardiac monitoring, medical management, and complex clinical interventions.
Job duties:
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and assess patients for cardiac and clinical status changes.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and manage vascular access devices.
- Provide care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and medical conditions.
- Manage cardiac monitoring, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and non-titrated cardiac/vasoactive drips.
- Perform neurological assessments, post-cardiac procedure care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
License: Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience; First-time travelers accepted
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
Unit Details:
Unit: Telemetry – 2810-10792
Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac dysrhythmias, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), CHF, Respiratory Failure, Pneumonia, Stroke, Post-MI care, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Cardiac Angiogram patients.
