Job Summary:
The healthcare professional position is in a step down unit located in Galesburg, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care to patients requiring intermediate monitoring and support, with a focus on conditions such as CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope. The unit operates on 12-hour night shifts, offering a dynamic environment for experienced registered nurses to deliver quality patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated; active BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience; must submit license to the organization.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
  • Float: Travelers expected to float; will take the same ratio on their assigned unit of 1:5.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit notes include local rate applicability for clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles, and details regarding call-off policy, orientation hours, and shift coverage.
    • Department uses EPIC electronic charting system, with 1 shift hospital orientation and 2 shifts unit orientation (one day shift and one night shift).
    • Patient care involves Central telemonitor tech, with medications such as Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro administered; no vents but Bipap, Cpap, and HF/Vapotherm available.
    • Hospitalist available from 7 am to 5 pm, with an in-house advanced practice registered nurse (APN) providing ongoing coverage.
    • No scrub color restrictions; clinicians may wear their own scrubs.
    • No call requirement, every other holiday off, and every other weekend work.
    • Notes entered as of 8/1/2025.
