Job Summary:
Pediatric Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) nights located on the first floor of a mixed unit specializing in pediatric rehabilitation and post-operative care. This role involves providing comprehensive clinical care to pediatric and adolescent patients with diagnoses such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, burns, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and recovery post-orthopedic surgery. The position offers a rotating shift schedule with three 12-hour night shifts per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12 rotating shifts, 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric or pediatric step-down experience, with skills in trach and ventilator management, spinal cord injury, wound care, and respiratory support
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience charting with Meditech, previous community hospital or LTAC experience, trauma level experience, and knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Float: Float within the specialty and to the Largo campus as needed through 10/8/26; may require floating to different units as operationally necessary
- Additional Information: Candidate must have a CPICertificate and active Maryland or compact RN license. Onboarding requires labs within 72 hours of signing, with a compliance deadline 5 days prior to start.
- Shift Hours: 12-hour night shifts, 19:00-07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
