Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a comprehensive stroke and high acuity unit with a focus on teamwork, compassion, and patient-centered service. The position supports a high-acuity environment emphasizing collaboration and professional growth.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), at least 2 years of RN experience in a similar setting, and valid licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro assessment, phlebotomy, EKG rhythm analysis, and vascular access skills such as port access and Heparin GTT management
  • Float: Float to mixed acuity only
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit is built on teamwork, compassion, and dedication to patient-centered care within a high acuity environment.
    • Orientation includes 24 hours, comprising two 12-hour shifts at the end of week one and the start of week two.
    • Staffing includes a charge nurse, CNA, vascular access team, resource teams (Sepsis and RAPIDO), and support from hospitalists, specialists, and intensivists available 24/7.
    • Technology includes Cerner electronic medical records, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and unit-specific equipment such as Arjo lifts, Kangaroo pumps, and Sapphire PCA pumps.
    • Support staff includes CNA, receptionist, and multiple support teams.
    • Shift is scheduled from 7AM to 7:30PM with clock-in at 6:53AM, and participation in morning huddles is required.
    • Scrub color is galaxy blue, with free onsite parking available.
