Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans, supervising support staff, and ensuring patient safety. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and patient education while supporting patient recovery and discharge planning during a temporary assignment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS Certification; minimum two years bedside clinical experience preferred; ACLS Certification required prior to first shift; no specific experience requirement listed
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting preferred
  • Responsibilities:
    • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
    • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record
    • Contribute to the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care based on nursing process
    • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching early in the hospitalization
    • Communicate effectively regarding patient status changes to support continuity of care
    • Supervise ancillary staff, delegate tasks appropriately, and contribute to a positive work environment
    • Maintain safety standards and promote a culture of safety, including safe patient handling and infection control
    • Participate in team activities, supply management, and clinical training as needed
    • Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation and actively pursue professional growth through continuing education
  • Additional Information:
    • Assignments are scheduled to begin on 08/31/2026 and conclude on 11/30/2026
    • The role requires adhering to all hospital policies regarding personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality
    • Candidates should be prepared to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize patient safety and care quality
