Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a magnet-designated healthcare facility. The role involves working within a stepdown unit from intensive care, serving a varied patient population including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and surgical patients. The RN will support a co-care/virtual nursing model, providing comprehensive patient care alongside a virtual RN and certified nursing assistant.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, at least 1 year of experience in a similar setting, experience with telemetry monitoring, ability to work night shifts, and willingness to float within scope to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical units.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips and vasoactive medications, and proficiency with electronic charting in Epic.
- Additional Information: The position involves caring for a patient census of approximately 36 adults and geriatrics, with a focus on complex medical and surgical patients requiring high-level monitoring. The unit employs a virtual nursing model, utilizing Philips monitors, with patient ratios of 1:4 on the bedside and 1:6 for CNA coverage. Candidates must have AK RN license in hand for auto-offer. RTO requests should be included during submittal and are considered on an individual basis.
