Job Details:
- Location: Shelby, North Carolina
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; 18 months of PCU RN experience; North Carolina RN licensure; willingness to accept first-time travelers; 1 year of experience in relevant specialties preferred
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Patients may present with conditions including CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain work-up, stroke, abdominal illnesses, infections, respiratory issues, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and IV drug abuse
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1 RN to 4 patients, potentially up to 1 RN to 5 patients depending on acuity
- Support within the Department: CNA support for ADL tasks, charge nurse assistance, phlebotomy (excluding nurse draws), RT, hospitalist, intensivist, and telemonitoring available 24/7
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, Phillips bedside monitors
- Floating: Support within region and scope of practice; required to float to facilities within region as needed, with travel time compensated if floating mid-shift
- Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation
- Unit Culture: Family-oriented environment
- Parking: Free parking available
- Schedule Cycle: Every 6 weeks with every other weekend rotation; no call required; holiday work at 75% rate
- Additional Notes: Scrubs to be navy; no specified holiday restrictions beyond workload; RTO approval for up to 6 days; schedule may be extended if contract hours are not met
