Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This position requires 2 to 5 years of Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience. The role involves managing complex congenital cardiac patients, post-operative care, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring, with responsibilities including titration of drips, ventilator management, and supporting advanced life support modalities. The assignment is scheduled to start on 08/24/2026 and will extend through 11/21/2026.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend requirement.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 2-5 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience, experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, inotropes (including common drips), and management of post-operative complex congenital cardiac patients. Prior experience with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Berlin Hearts, and HeartMate III devices preferred. Must be capable of titrating drips related to cardiac patient care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ECMO, CRRT, Berlin Hearts, and HeartMate II devices. Clinical proficiency in managing ventilators, trachs, cervos, long-term ventilatory support, and high-frequency ventilation.
  • Additional Information: Staff are expected to be first to float within the unit. Self-scheduling flexibility is provided. Appropriate scrubs are navy blue with the option to wear colorful tops. Epic electronic medical record access is required, along with completing relevant Epic training modules.
  • Shift Expectations: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Weekend Expectations: Every other weekend
  • On-Call Expectations: No on-call responsibilities
  • Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor holiday
