Job Summary:
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed at a healthcare facility location. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients from birth to 21 years old. The assignment includes rotating day and night shifts, with potential for straight night shifts, scheduled for 13 weeks starting on October 6, 2026, and ending on January 9, 2027.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights (6:45 PM 7:15 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Colorado RN license; BSN degree; minimum of 2+ years experience in a comparable Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as a staff nurse; experience caring for patients from birth to 21 years with diagnoses including respiratory conditions, chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, traumatic brain injury, diabetes ketoacidosis, seizure disorders, oncology, metabolic disorders, and surgical cases (neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery); proficiency in using Trilogy & Drager ventilators, Codman intracranial pressure monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, Baxter large volume IV pumps; certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); preferred certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: At least 2+ years of staff experience; 1+ year of travel experience in a teaching facility PICU.
  • Additional Information: Travel requires float capability to all inpatient care areas, including critical care and acute care floors, with flexibility to float within a 35-mile radius of the original assignment, excluding emergency department, operating room, or inpatient psychiatric units. No requests for time off within the first two weeks of assignment are permitted; medical and religious flu vaccine exemptions are allowed with documentation.
