Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse Madison, WI. This specialized role involves providing critical care to pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art 21-bed unit within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center. The position demands a high level of expertise in pediatric critical care, including managing complex cases such as neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, and ECMO support. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a high-acuity hospital environment and capable of delivering family-centered, family-focused care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating; 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, based on unit needs, with Monday through Friday schedule, every other weekend, and some holidays required.
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of recent acute care experience, WI RN license or compact license, Pediatric ICU experience, CVICU experience, strong Pediatric ICU and level II experience preferred, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, EPIC electronic health record experience, must pass telemetry test prior to start.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong Pediatric ICU experience and CVICU experience, high acuity hospital experience, extensive level II trauma experience.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have experience with End-Tidal CO? monitoring, management of ports, blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, and invasive lines. The role includes responsibilities such as ventilator management, seizure management, and complex pediatric procedures like ECMO and CRRT. Flexibility to float to NICU and general care units is required.
  • Location: 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792.
  • Certifications: BLS, PALS, WI RN or compact RN license. Candidate must pass strict pass/fail telemetry interpretation assessment in both adult and pediatric cardiac rhythms.
  • Additional Requirements: Minimum of two years of relevant inpatient RN experience within the last three years. Candidate must meet strict testing criteria in cardiac interpretation to be cleared.
