Position Overview
A Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week Perianesthesia assignment. This position will primarily provide weekend coverage and includes both Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities for surgical patients, with occasional Pre-Op care for GI patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients.
- Care for patients in the PACU following surgical procedures.
- Provide occasional pre-operative care for GI patients.
- Monitor patients and assess recovery following anesthesia.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC.
- Follow facility policies and patient-safety standards.
- Provide primarily weekend coverage with varied 10-hour shift start times.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience.
- Current, active California RN license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Previous EPIC EMR experience.
- Experience in both Pre-Op and PACU settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPAN – Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse.
- CAPA – Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse.
- Previous successful travel nursing experience.
