Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Albuquerque, NM 87102
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM). Option of 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio 1:4-5. Weekend coverage as needed on a rotating basis.
Highlights:
- Progressive Care Unit located at a dedicated cardiac facility with significant cardiovascular patient population
- 55-bed unit functioning as a cardiac stepdown with diverse cardiac diagnoses including CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Epic charting system utilized for documentation
- Flexible scheduling with option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
Requirements:
- Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (pending license accepted if obtained prior to start date)
- Minimum 2 years of progressive care or stepdown experience preferred (1+ years considered)
- Cardiovascular experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale and CPI preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, cardiac drips, post-cardiac procedures, and critical care skills
- Proficiency with central line management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and other advanced nursing interventions
- Must reside outside 50-mile radius from the location
