**Exciting Travel RN Opportunity in Cardiovascular Progressive Care!** **Job Description:** - Join a dynamic team on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit! - Primary patient population includes: - CV surgery and vascular surgery - Open heart surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.) - Thoracic lung surgeries (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.) - Esophagogastrectomy and AAA repairs (open and endovascular) - Fem-pop bypass and carotid endarterectomies - Overflow medical cardiology patients (heart failure, DKA, sepsis, etc.) - **Staffing Overview:** - Approximately 100 dedicated staff members - Day Shift: - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 1.33 HUC - Night Shift: - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 0.33 HUC - **Patient Ratios:** - 1:5 patients per RN - 1:13 for PCTs - **Equipment:** - Baxter IV pumps - CADD epidural pumps - Various lifts - **EMR System:** Cerner - **Typical Hiring Profile:** - **Must Have:** - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience - **Preferred:** - CV surgery and vascular surgery experience (within last year) - CVICU experience - **Procedures Performed on Unit:** - Epidural management - Chest tube management - Tube feedings - IV gluccomander - Management of cardiac gtts (e.g., phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) - **Ideal Candidate:** - Team player - Thrives in a fast-paced environment - Flexible and adaptable - **Required Certifications:** - ACLS - BLS - **Floating Areas:** - Any Stepdown (1:5 ratios) or Med-Surg unit (1:6-7 ratios) - ER inpatient holding area (1:6) - **Dress Code:** - All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrub attire - **Weekend and On-Call Requirements:** - No call - Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule - Flexibility to work during holidays **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
