Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility setting. The role involves delivering age-specific, direct patient care to individuals recovering from anesthesia. The RN in this position will utilize the Nursing Process within the framework of the Department of Nursing Standards of Patient Care and Specialty Specific Standards of Patient Care. Leadership responsibilities include delegating work to other healthcare team members, ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing healthcare. Active certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required prior to the start of the assignment, with a booked course at the time of clinical orientation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC) certifications active prior to contract start date, clinical experience in post anesthesia care (minimum 0 years), and a valid nursing degree.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit and leadership experience.
- Additional Information: The RN will provide patient assessments, monitor vital signs, manage patient recovery, and support safe discharge from the PACU. Delegates appropriate tasks and follows departmental policies and protocols.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
