Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) in an urban healthcare facility. This position involves providing high-quality post-operative care to patients exiting surgical procedures, with a focus on trauma-level 1 experience, cardiac procedures, and critical care. The role requires excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to float to related units as needed.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; 3 years of PACU experience with recent years; trauma level 1 experience; ability to read tele strips; ICU experience required; proficiency in pre- and post-operative care, cardiac procedures, TEE/CV/CATH/EP OR procedures, and management of cardiac drips, IVs, and tele monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vascular, robotic TAVR, pediatric CATHs, and excellent team communication skills.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU units.
- Additional Information: The position involves managing up to 40 pre- and post-operative beds, 9 overnight bays, and short stay beds. Equipment includes IV pumps, PCAS, epidurals, arterial lines, tele monitoring, and TEE/CV. The EMR system used is Epic.
