Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse position in a 210-bed facility. This role involves working in a high-volume, Level III trauma center with a focus on recovery care for diverse patient populations including orthopedic, gynecological, pediatric, vascular, ENT, cesarean, gastrointestinal, and general surgery patients. The schedule features four ten-hour shifts per week, with a rotating on-call requirement, including weekends and holidays, designed to promote work-life balance during on-call periods.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS; 2 years of critical care experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Alines, ventilators, and airway management procedures.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, potentially between the PACU and other units in the facility.
- Additional Information: The PACU patient population includes post-operative orthopedic, gynecological, pediatric, vascular, ENT, cesarean, GI, and general surgery patients. The unit uses the RX Station medication system and Epic for electronic charting. Prior experience in critical care is essential to manage ventilators and Alines effectively. Candidate must be licensed to submit and meet the minimum experience requirement of two years in a critical care setting. Travelers will support the unit during pre- and post-operative periods with opportunities for three 12-hour shifts during pre- and post-surgical weeks to balance workload. The role includes approximately four to five call shifts every four weeks, covering weekends and holidays.
