Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a short term acute care facility within the Portland area. The role involves floating between recovery and short stay/pre-operative/post-operative units, requiring flexibility and clinical expertise. The assignment begins on 09/28/2026 and concludes on 01/18/2027, with a schedule of dayshift hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Dayshift hours, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license; minimum 1 year of experience in PACU or related unit; Certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS; experience with inpatient care, phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, external ventricular drain (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, ventilated patient care, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, general, local, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks, spinal anesthesia, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment & management, PCA pump management, RASS (Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale), and bariatrics.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II and community hospital settings
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other units based on clinical needs and skill sets
- Additional Information: Must have a vehicle for this assignment. Candidates should be prepared to work at multiple facilities within the region, including but not limited to Portland and surrounding areas. A commitment to working scheduled holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) is required. All scheduling requests and time off must be submitted upfront during the application process. Refusal to float or adhere to scheduled shifts may impact employment. This position involves completing pre-start modules and ongoing training as required.
