Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in which the nurse will evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide education to patients and families, and assume responsibility for patient preparation and monitoring throughout the peri-operative process. The role involves critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and collaboration as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (APR Natal) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Registered Nurse (RN); Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); 1 year of relevant experience; must obtain ACLS and BLS certifications within 90 days of employment start date
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The nurse will participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, and debriefing; respond to patient emergencies; educate patients and families about medical conditions and follow-up; monitor patient condition throughout the shift; document thoroughly; and collaborate with other healthcare team members.
