Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Operating Room for general surgical patients.
- Assist with a variety of surgical procedures, including:
- General surgery
- Urology
- GYN
- ENT
- Vascular
- Cystoscopy
- Da Vinci robotic procedures
- Lap chole, lap colon, lap appendectomy
- Hysterectomy
- Work with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia, and OR staff.
- Scrubbing is NOT required for RNs.
- Document using EPIC OP Time.
- May float to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified.
- Follow sterile technique and OR safety protocols.
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN License – Required
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- 2+ years of OR experience – Required
- Recent experience with:
- General Surgery
- Urology
- GYN
- ENT
- EPIC experience – Required
- Must be comfortable with call and weekend rotation.
- 30-minute call response time required.
- Hospital-provided scrubs.
