Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel RN assignment in Bridgeport, CT. Join a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center and step into a nightly charge nurse role.

Job Details

• Setting: Short-term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Nursing / Perioperative Nursing
• Schedule: 4 x 10-hour night shifts, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Call: Weekday and weekend call as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,620 - $2,760

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut prior to start
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• Trauma experience required
• Experience in Level I and/or Level II trauma settings required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong background in complex surgical cases, OR procedures, and perioperative care

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room
• Serve as charge nurse each night and help coordinate patient flow and team communication
• Support a wide range of surgical cases, including trauma, orthopedic, thoracic, vascular, robotic, and general surgery
• Prepare and maintain the OR for safe, efficient, high-quality patient care
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff
• Monitor patient safety, infection control, and universal protocol compliance
• Assist with weekend coverage and call shifts as needed
• Deliver calm, confident leadership in a busy acute care hospital environment
