Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Wisconsin This position involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within a Level 1 trauma center that handles emergency cases, transplant surgeries, endovascular procedures, trauma, and complex craniotomies. The role requires active involvement in multidisciplinary team planning, efficient coordination of surgical activities, and adaptability to float across various service lines including trauma, transplant, neuro, ortho, and vascular cases. The candidate must meet the specified skill and certification requirements to ensure optimal patient outcomes during high-acuity surgeries.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026 and ending on 01/11/2027.
- Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification (AHA only), at least 1 year of recent acute care experience in the specialty, two years of inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years, and experience with multiple service lines including trauma, transplant, neuro, and ortho. Must meet pass/fail testing criteria with a telemetry exam requiring a score of 80% or higher, and successful identification of lethal rhythms on adult and pediatric ECG exams in two attempts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge nursing, charting systems like Epic, and community hospital or LTAC experience. Previous trauma level I experience, and proficiency in skills related to transplant and vascular procedures.
- Certifications: BLS, RN license.
- Skills: Experience with complex surgical procedures such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs, organ transplants, craniotomies, endovascular cases, and trauma surgeries. Must have experience in neuro, ortho, transplant, and vascular surgeries with a score of 3 or above.
- Float: Float: Travelers are required to float as needed.
- Additional Information: The role involves active participation in surgical case planning, efficient operating room turnover, and coordinated patient care in a busy, high-acuity environment. Candidates should be willing to learn and circulate across all service lines, including trauma and emergency cases.
