Job Summary:
This is an Operating Room (OR) registered nurse (RN) position at a healthcare facility located in Rockford, Illinois. The role involves providing advanced perioperative care across various specialties in a dynamic surgical environment. The position offers rotating shifts with different start times, including nights, evenings, and days, totaling approximately 40 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts with various start times, including 0645, 1045, 1445, 2245 - 0715, and others, totaling at least 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification (American Heart Association); Illinois RN license or confirmation of application initiation; at least 3 years of OR nursing experience; scrubbing required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in multiple specialties including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, ortho, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic surgeries.
- Additional Information: Charge Nurse and/or House Supervisor present on each shift with the charge nurse not taking patient assignments but providing support. Surgical techs (1-2 per patient) and CNAs (3-4 on days, 1 by 7 PM) are part of the team. Epic electronic charting system is used. The role requires a 1-week unit-specific orientation. Shifts include nights, evenings/mid-shifts, and days, with some call responsibilities approximately once per week or every 3rd to 4th weekend. No floating requirements. Scrubs are provided, and casual professional dress is acceptable for entering and leaving the facility.
